All bookings at The Rock Restaurant Zanzibar require a non-refundable deposit of $10 per person at the time of booking, which will be deducted from your final bill. We would like to emphasize that deposits and transfers are non-refundable.
If a booking is made and only drinks are consumed (without dining), the deposit will not be deducted from the bill and will be non-refundable.
To make a reservation, click here, then simply select your visit date and the number of people in your party in the search box. Clicking on each space will prompt a calendar or people number option to assist you. After selecting your date and party size, click ‘Search’ to view availability.
You can then select your preferred sitting. Following this you will have the option to pre-order a freshly prepared cake to be delivered to your table with a personalised message on the cake. Simply select the desired item and add a personal message. You can then select ‘Save Extras’ Cakes are a popular choice for any occasion. Please note there is a 48 hour non refundable cancellation policy.

During peak months (June, July, August, September, October, December 16th to 31st, January, and February), we accept groups of up to 12 people per sitting to ensure the best experience for our guests. Please note that only one group will be accommodated at a time during these months and will be served an a la carte menu.
In off-peak months (March, April, May, November, and December 1st to 15th), we welcome groups, but we may need to review or create a special group menu during this time. Again, only one group will be accommodated per sitting.
High tides may result in challenging boat landings, leading to delays of up to 20-minutes. Safety is our top priority and our boat captain will make this call. Please note we never cancel bookings, but delays may occur during moments of our highest tides or unstable sea conditions.

If you arrive more than 30 minutes late without notifying our booking office, there is a risk of losing your reservation. Our Manager at The Rock will make every effort to accommodate late clients, but seating together cannot be guaranteed if the venue is fully booked.

During off-peak months, we welcome groups. You have the option to reserve tables for smaller numbers within your group, although they won’t be served simultaneously, nor will meals be prepared simultaneously.
On the ‘Confirm Your Booking’ page, you can pre-order a freshly prepared cake to be delivered to your table. Simply select the desired item and any extras, and feel free to add a personal message. Please note, there is a 48 hour non refundable cancellation policy as all cakes are freshly prepared.
The Rock is not able to pre-seat guests due to its small size. Tables not taken up within 10 minutes of indicated seating time will be allocated to waiting customers. Guests have 2 hours from the time of sitting commencement to enjoy their meal, after which the table must be vacated.
Yes, a deposit of $10 USD per person on booking is required. The deposit will be deducted from the final account at The Rock. The deposit is non-refundable.
While there is no strict dress code, we recommend smart casual attire to enhance your dining experience.
We do not allow outside food or beverages, including cakes, to be brought into the restaurant. However, you can pre-order a cake from us to enjoy during your visit.
